Winchester 296 is a ball powder developed for large handgun loads. An ideal solution for loading 357 Magnum, 44 Magnum, and even 410-bore shotshell ammunition, its high loading density provides optimal velocity. Winchester 296 is also recommended for 410-bore AA loads.
I have gotten great results when used to reload 300BK OUT

Surprised
I was rather surprised that I received an request to review Win 296 powder. 296 has kept .410 in the hands of American youth- teaching them to shoot for generations. It set the standard. Plenty of nice loads available for many components. 296 speaks for itself.

WW296
When I purchased my Super Blackhawk, the first powder I chose was WW296. After testing with a number of projectile weights it seemed a waste of time to try another powder as it was obvious the combination shot better than I could!
This is the only powder I have used in my 44 Magnum ever since.

Winchester 296
Excellent for loading high velocity rounds in big bore revolvers such as .44 magnum, .460 magnum and .500 magnum. I am confident that it would also be well suited to .454 Casull and other strong calibers.
